Anthony Kiedis Orders Custom Airstream

Anthony Kiedis has ordered a customised Airstream caravan from David Winick; Winick specialises in customising the distinctive Airstream caravans in re-fits and has designed several already for celebrity clients including Tom Hanks and Metallica’s lead singer, James Hetfield.

Thousands of these instantly recognizable, rounded-aluminum, recreational trailers will hit highways this Memorial Day weekend, along with hordes of less-distinctive campers and RVs. But only a precious few of these retro-looking, nostalgia-provoking Airstreams boast the Winick touch. The Ada-area artist and designer guts old models, restores their aluminum shells and customizes the interiors with chic cabinetry, seating and kitchen accessories in whatever fashion his well-heeled clients choose. It’s become his calling card, and he has become so well-known for his restorations he’s now customizing a silver 1958 Airstream trailer for Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis.

I always think how small they are! lol They are seriously cool caravans but I’d never fit in one with my two! My motorhome is bigger than one of those and we can’t fit into that now! Wonder if AK will go camping with it or will it be a playhouse for EB in the garden?!! (Or used once and then become a playhouse? hehe)
