What are the books to the right of The Stories Behind Every Song? (I can’t make out the titles.) I’m trying to add every Red Hot Chili Peppers book in existence to my wish list to eventually buy.
    Thanks!

I’ve moved them around a bit so I can’t do them in the same order but I have been meaning to compile a list of them for ages so here you go 🙂

      Autobiographies/Diaries

There are a couple of copies of ‘Scar Tissue’ by Anthony Kiedis

Lords of Sunset Strip by Blackie Dammett (well worth a read if you are a RHCP fan. It is a biography of Blackie’s life so obviously the focus is on him but there is lots of info on RHCP and also Anthony).

Don’t Try this at Home by Dave Navarro (mostly an account of his life but there are some snippets of info about RHCP e.g. what happened when he left the band and some photos).

Behind the Sun: Diary of Hillel Slovak by James Slovak

      Photographic

Red Hot Chili Peppers Fandemonium by David Mushegain (with a lengthy 32 page in-depth foreword by Anthony Kiedis) which is a collection of photos of RHCP fans.

Me and My Friends: Red Hot Chili Peppers by Tony Woolliscoft (Love this book! Mostly photos TW took of the band for magazines over the years- so many iconic shots- but with added anecdotes).

Around the World: Red Hot Chili Peppers in Pictures by Tony Woolliscroft (to accompany the exhibition he had by the same name)

Bands About the Band, songs, etc.

An Aural and Visual History by the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Brendan Mullen (Brendan’s Death Song is about his death). An official book with lots of information, photos, etc. It does contain some mistakes but it is still very informative.

Fornication: The Red Hot Chili Peppers Story by Jeff Apter

Red Hot Chili Peppers Songs (Hephaestus Books; no author listed)

Red Hot Chili Peppers: In the Studio by Jake Brown

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Inside the Veins of the Velvet Glove by Martin Roach

The Red Hot Chili Peppers: By the Way. The Biography by Dave Thompson

Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Making of Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Joel McIver

Red Hot Chili Peppers by Spike Harvey

Give It Away Red Hot Chili Peppers: The Stories Behind Every Song by Rob Fitzpatrick

Red Hot Chili Pepper: Sugar and Spice by Chris Watts

Appetite For Destruction by Mick Wall -A collection of various interviews he wrote for mostly Kerrang! magazine collected together as a book. One chapter is a re-run of an interview with Anthony Kiedis. I don’t think this book is widely available anymore but I do have it scanned on the sister site and you can see it HERE

    Thank you very much!

It would also be awesome if you made a list of their films like the Funk Monks documentary and there is also a Californication era documentary I believe.

You’re welcome! I’ve not done it here as it’s more RHCP as a whole than just AK but I’ve set up a bibliography page on my other website:

    http://thechilisource.com/bibliography/

Have some more things to add that other people have told me about and plan to add photos of all of the book covers. I’m hoping tomorrow but it might be next weekend. So keep a look out 🙂

I can add documentaries to that but it might take me a couple of weeks as I really need to finish off some other stuff and I’m currently working full time so have very little spare time.
